The first day of school will be Wednesday, September 1st. We will resume full-day, in-person learning.
No, as announced by Governor Murphy in July 2021, virtual learning is not an option for students for this school year unless the school is forced to close for a state of emergency.
Yes, masks are required for students while being transported on a school vehicle to and from school, and while being transported during school activities.
On Friday, August 6, 2021, Governor Murphy announced that masks are required for all students, staff, and visitors inside the school building, regardless of vaccination status. Any changes to our mask policy will be promptly announced to the HPS school community.
One (1) COVID-19 “Healthy” Pledge form must be completed for each student at the beginning of the school year. Daily forms are no longer required for staff and students. Parents and visitors entering the school building must complete a COVID-19 Screening form.
Wednesday, September 1st – Full Day (8:50-2:30) In-person learning for all students.
Thursday, September 2nd - Full Day (8:50-2:30) In-person classes for all students.
Friday, September 3rd - Half Day (8:50 -12:30) In-person classes for all students.
Monday, September 6th- School closed- Labor Day
Tuesday, September 7th - School closed- Rosh Hashanah
All students must bring their completed COVID-19 Healthy Pledge form and other 2021-22 school forms to school on the first day. Students will receive a temperature screening prior to entering the building and must comply with social distancing and health and safety guidelines throughout the day. Students will be assigned a Chromebook for their exclusive use while at school. Chromebooks will remain at school. If a student does not have a personal device for use at home, please contact Principal Schumann to make arrangements. If other school supplies are needed, teachers will notify students during the first weeks of school.
Yes, students will need to bring a bagged lunch, drinks, and utensils. Microwaves will be available for use. Students may utilize their homeroom refrigerator to store their bagged lunch/snacks. While the weather permits, students will eat lunch outdoors.
Sending districts arrange for student transportation. Any questions you have concerning transportation should be directed to your case manager or sending district’s transportation department. Students are required to wear a mask while riding the bus and to adhere to health and safety guidelines provided by the transportations company.
