our school campus
The Hunterdon Preparatory School is located in beautiful, rural Hunterdon County near the town of Clinton. The school is situated on ten acres of open land surrounded by farms. The location provides students with many opportunities for both indoor and outdoor learning experiences and activities.
When visitors step inside the front door of the Hunterdon Preparatory School, many sense right away that they have entered an extraordinary school. Each student's day begins with a warm welcome, a smile and a personal greeting.
The Hunterdon Preparatory School was constructed to house large, well-lit classrooms, vibrant art and music studios, and an expansive kitchen space where community service activities like holiday events and fundraisers can be organized and facilitated. It was intentionally designed to include spaces where students can gather.
We believe that it's critical to provide a flexible and dynamic learning environment where complex learners can discover and create boundless opportunities for growth and transformation.
The center of the building houses five spacious connecting areas including the art and music studios, the technology lab, the kitchen & dining room, and the community room, a large multi-purpose area that is used for school concerts, group meetings, formal presentations and assemblies.
The school building unfolds into traditional academic classrooms that surround the central common areas. The science lab and the library, as well as meeting rooms, counselor offices, and our health office fill the four corridors that form a rectangle around the center.
Art hangs in the wide hallways at every turn. A graffiti wall and our senior portrait collection are two current showcases.
The back portion of the school, affectionately known as "the west wing", was completed in the spring of 2015 and is the center of our “Life after HPS” programs. The west wing houses the Transition and 12+ programs and our on-site community college classes.
The best way to experience the Hunterdon Prep campus is to visit.
