HPS and my child

At Hunterdon Prep, we advocate for all students and we believe that matching students with the right program is essential for their ultimate success. We strive to enroll those students who will really benefit from our program in important and dramatic ways. There are many private, special education schools in New Jersey that provide excellent services and opportunities for students. This information will help you with some initial considerations.

1.	Student made signs created with wood burning techniques displayed outside the school. These say, “with you”, and “with me.”
2.	Student made signs created with wood burning techniques displayed outside the school. These say, “life gives you what you can handle”, and “keep your head up.”
3.	Student made sign created with wood burning techniques displayed outside the school. This one says “Peace.”

IS HPS THE RIGHT SCHOOL FOR MY CHILD?

At Hunterdon Prep we set the bar high for academic and personal success. Our unique program incorporates strong academics with group and individual counseling. By providing students with individualized instruction and social support, they are able to discover their unique abilities and talents.

Many of our students have been diagnosed with anxiety disorders, mood disorders, depression, ADHD, specific learning disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. At HPS we believe that these challenges do not define our students or what they can accomplish. We provide students with the tools to become responsible for their own self-care and to become contributing members of the greater community.

IS MY CHILD READY FOR HPS?

All students that attend Hunterdon Prep must agree to abide by our Good Faith Agreement. This agreement requires students to make a personal commitment to be actively involved in helping to maintain a healthy school community. This is accomplished by showing respect and tolerance for others, and by a willingness to resolve conflicts with peers and staff members.

HPS students must be willing to accept feedback, follow school rules, follow the direction of staff members, and participate in group counseling.

HPS students do not display patterns of anti-social or physically aggressive behavior.
