Where is the school located?
Hunterdon Prep is located in western New Jersey near the towns of Clinton and Annandale. The school address is 11 Spencer Lane, Annandale, 08801
What are the school hours?
The school day is from 8:50 am until 2:30 pm. Students can arrive beginning at 8:30 am.
School office hours are 8:00 am until 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
When was the school founded?
Hunterdon Prep was was founded in 1975.
Is Hunterdon Preparatory School an accredited school?
Hunterdon Prep is approved by the New Jersey Department of Education and by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
What types of students attend Hunterdon Prep?
Our students have had difficulty achieving academic and social success in traditional school settings. Our students benefit from the individualized instruction and social support that enables them to discover their abilities and talents.
What is the age and grade range of the student body?
Our students are 12 to 21 years old.
How many students attend school?
We enroll approximately 70 students in our ten month program and 30 students in our Summer Discovery Program (ESY).
What is the ratio of male to female students?
The ratio is typically 50 percent male and 50 percent female.
Where do Hunterdon Preparatory School students live?
Our students come from over 45 school districts and 9 counties in New Jersey (click here for a complete list).
Is the school's curriculum aligned with New Jersey state standards?
Yes. We offer traditional grade level curriculum and adhere to New Jersey requirements for graduation.
How is academic instruction delivered?
Coursework assignments are highly personalized to address the goals, objectives and instructional methods identified in each student's IEP.
Does Hunterdon Prep administer standardized testing?
The Hunterdon Preparatory School is an approved testing site for the NJBCT, PARCC, PSAT and ASVAB.
What certifications do professional staff members hold?
Professional staff members are licensed according to New Jersey State Department of Education standards.
Is the school's curriculum aligned with New Jersey state standards?
Yes. We offer traditional grade level curriculum and adhere to New Jersey requirements for graduation.

What is the age range of students attending Hunterdon Prep?
Students attending Hunderdon Prep are generally between the ages of 12 and 21. Because our goal is to meet each student where they are in their academic process we do not necessarily place students into courses based on age or "traditional" grade level. Each student's placement is unique to their situation.
Will Hunterdon Prep accept my child mid-year?
Yes, Hunterdon Prep accepts students on a rolling basis. Students are admitted to Hunterdon Prep throughout the school year.
Does the admissions process include a visiting day for my child? What can they expect on that day?
After your child has been referred for out-of-district placement and our Admissions Team has concluded that your child is a good match for our program, an interview day will be scheduled. The interview day will be your child's opportunity to visit Hunterdon Prep. Your child will have an interview with the Admissions Counselor, go on a tour of the school, visit classrooms, and have time to talk with other students.
