Ways to Give

"We are very honored to support the tremendous work being
done by the entire staff and student body of the Hunterdon Preparatory School."
  - KEELY AND RALPH LOVEYS

Every gift to the Hunterdon Preparatory school is used to further our mission to deliver the highest quality educational experience to our students. We are sincerely grateful to the many people and organizations who enable us to provide each student with the time, support, and tools to achieve high academic and personal success.  Hunterdon Prep is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization and your gifts are fully tax deductible.

Donate to the ANNUAL FUND

The Hunterdon Preparatory School Annual Fund is the primary way for our parents, alumni, family, friends, and community to give back and make a lasting impact on our students. Gifts to the Annual Fund provide vital unrestricted support, allowing the school to direct resources where they are needed most—enhancing academic, art and music, technology, extracurricular, and extended year programs, supporting dedicated teachers, and ensuring every student has access to opportunities that help them thrive.

As with most schools, there is a gap between the funds we receive from the state of NJ and tuition, and the cost to provide an exceptional education to our students. Your donations to The ANNUAL FUND help close the gap.

Participate in a MATCHING GIFTS Pogram

Does your company MATCH GIFTS to 501(c)(3) organizations and educational institutions? An easy way to double your donation to Hunterdon Prep is to submit a Matching Gift request to your employer. An estimated 18 million people work for companies with matching gift programs yet many funds go unasked for each year. MATCHING GIFTS is a simple way to double your support of Hunterdon Prep. To Make Corporate Donations Easy, we are registered with Benevity, an organization that streamlines corporate donations to charities and non-profits. Check with your employer to see if they use Benevity or another organization to facilitate employer matching gifts.

Planned GIVING

When you include Hunterdon Prep in your estate plan, your gift is known as a “planned gift.” A planned gift from your estate can create a lasting legacy that supports the school for years to come. Here are a few ways you can make a planned gift.

► Make a Bequest from Your Will or Revocable Trust

Name Hunterdon Prep in your will or revocable trust. It’s the simplest type of planned giving. Your bequest can be a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate. Your bequest provides a charitable deduction from state and federal death taxes.

► Make a Gift from your Retirement Plan

Name Hunterdon Prep as a beneficiary for all or a share of your IRA, 401(k), or other retirement account. By listing HPS as a beneficiary, you are provided with a charitable deduction from your state and federal death taxes.

Gift your Required Minimum Distribution to Hunterdon Prep. If you are age 70 ½ or older, you can gift all or a portion of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) directly to HPS as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), potentially reducing your federal income tax liability.

► Make a Gift of your Life Insurance

Transfer ownership of your paid-up life insurance policy to Hunterdon Prep, providing you with a charitable income tax deduction for the cash surrender value. The school can either cash in the policy for its surrender value or later receive the death benefit.

The above descriptions of planned giving are not legal advice. You should speak with your financial advisor or attorney to determine if a planned gift is appropriate for you. If you have or are considering naming Hunterdon Preparatory School in your estate plan, please let us know. We will be happy to hear from you.
