Mary Worthington and Denim!

Mary Worthington and Denim!

Mary Worthington (pictured on the right) and her guide dog Denim joined us today to share their inspiring story. Mary helped us realize that we can all overcome obstacles that we encounter in our lives!

Mary has been legally blind since birth but that has not stopped her from doing just about anything that she wants...including running in a race where she lost one of her shoes halfway through and kept going straight to the finish line!

Mary and Denim have been together for nine years. Denim was by Mary's side through her college years at TCNJ and Centenary University (where Mary graduated from with a degree in English in 2013) and more recently on the job when Mary is substitute teaching. They are constant companions and their bond is obviously very strong.

Denim came to Mary through the Leader Dogs for the Blind program in Rochester Hills, MI. You can learn more about them at www.leaderdog.org.Thank you Mary and Denim for visiting with us and inspiring us to be everything that we can be!
