“Loose Change for Positive Gain” was the brainchild of HPS student, Nicki P. After a discussion on the bus with fellow students about volunteering in the community, they decided to place a coin jar in the lobby of the school to raise money for the Flemington Area Food Pantry. In a few weeks, our jar was filled to capacity with a grand total of $123.00 being collected!
We checked with the food pantry to see what items they were most in need of and then went out shopping for salad dressing, croutons, cereal, laundry detergent and more. What started out as an idea on the bus ended up as a successful outreach project. Thank you to everyone who supported our “Loose Change for Positive Gain” initiative! We look forward to being able to help our friends at the Flemington Area Food Pantry again since their mission to help others never takes a day off.
