Required NJGPA testing in March - Class of 2027

Dear Parents/Guardians of Class of 2027,

I wanted to reach out and inform you that your child will be taking the NJGPA (New Jersey Graduation Proficiency Assessment) this March. The NJGPA is required by the State of New Jersey Department of Education as part of the requirements for graduation. Students throughout the state of NJ take the test in the Spring of their Junior year.

Students expected to graduate with the class of 2027 will be required to sit for, and pass, the New Jersey Graduation Proficiency Assessment (NJGPA). The NJGPA covers content aligned to the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for 10th grade ELA (English Language), Algebra 1, and Geometry. The NJGPA will consist of two sessions for ELA and two sessions for math, with 75 minutes allotted for each session. Additionally, students will have one session that is for writing that is 90 minutes.

NJGPA Spring testing will take place at Hunterdon Prep during the week of March 16-20, 2026. Please encourage your child to get a good night’s sleep the evenings prior to testing, eat breakfast the morning of testing, and to be present in school the days of testing. Testing will take place from 9:30 am until about noon (depending on the day and sessions being taken).

  • NJGPA ELA testing will take place on Monday & Tuesday March 16th & 17th.
  • NJGPA Writing testing will take place on Wednesday March 18th.
  • NJGPA Math testing will take place on Thursday & Friday March 19th & 20th.

If for some reason your child is not present on testing days or arrives later than 9:30am, they will have to participate in the makeup test dates during the week of March 23-27th.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions regarding NJGPA testing via email: mevancho@hunterdonprep.org or (908) 832-7200 ext. 16.

Sincerely,

Melissa Evancho
