Dear Parents/Guardians,
We would like to inform you that all HPS Middle School students will be participating in the New Jersey Students Learning Assessments (NJSLA) administration next week. These statewide assessments measure their academic performance in English language arts (ELA), mathematics, and science(8th grade only) as defined in the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS). These computer-based assessments are aligned to the New Jersey State standards.
Testing will take place from 9:30 am - 12 pm. Please try to make sure your child is on-time and present in school on testing dates. Otherwise, they will be required to do make-up testing.
Monday April 28 & Tuesday April 29- ELA testing
Thursday May 1 & Friday May 2- Math testing
Monday May 5 & Tuesday May 6- Science (8th Graders Only)
In order to help promote success and be ready for testing each day, please encourage your child to get a good night’s sleep and eat breakfast.
We are also asking each student to make sure they bring an independent reading book with them to testing so they have something to do should they finish early.
