RECREATIONAL TRIPS

 (to be held after school from 2:30-5:00 PM)

I hope this email finds you all staying cool! As you know, we are offering in-person kayaking and hiking/nature trips to students currently enrolled in the Summer Discovery program. These trips are considered recreational and are completely voluntary. Families will need to provide transportation for their child.

We are able to take six students per trip. Please look at the trip dates and locations below and help guide your child in selecting dates that you or another family member are able to transport them. We will schedule your child for one kayak and one hiking trip at a minimum.

KAYAKING – ALL TRIPS ARE 2:30-5:00 PM

Kayaking trips will all be held at the Round Valley Recreation Area, 1220 Lebanon-Stanton Road Lebanon, NJ 08833.

Students can sign up for trips via a form on the Summer Discovery 2020 Google classroom. In order to be able to participate, students are required to:

Please complete yearly Student Information Forms packet and return as soon as possible via U.S. mail, fax (908-832-9772) or email Sandy Sanchez (nurse@hunterdonprep.org) or Cathy Smith (csmith@hunterdonprep.org)

Trip-specific permission forms will be sent out once your child’s trip date is confirmed. These must be signed and returned to the school before the date of the trip.

Arrive with all necessary supplies as outlined in the permission forms that you will receive (face mask, individual sunscreen, water, etc)

Be available for a call or video chat from Ms. Sanchez, School Nurse, the day before the trip for a pre-screening.

Pass the screening at the site of the trip to be completed by Ms. Sanchez or another HPS staff member.
