What is the NJSLA-Adaptive/NJGPA-Adaptive Field Test?
The NJSLA-Adaptive/NJGPA-Adaptive Field Test is a non-graded, trial version of state assessments designed to test new computer-adaptive technology. A computer-adaptive test adjusts the difficulty of questions as students answer them, creating a more personalized assessment experience. This format can provide more precise information about a student’s skills and understanding. The results of the field test will not impact your child’s grades or academic record. Participation in the field test is mandatory and helps shape how the state measures student progress moving forward.
This falls field test, administered through Cambium Assessment (CA), will support the future development of the spring operational test. The purpose of the fall field test is to ensure that the items and scoring models are functioning properly and measure what they are designed to measure. The results will help improve the overall quality and fairness of the statewide NJSLA-A assessment system.
Please note:
- The content on the Fall Field Test will reflect material from the grade level prior to your child’s current grade. For example, tenth grade students will take a test designed for administration in the spring of ninth grade.
- All students in grades 4 and above are required by the state to participate in the fall field test
- Field test results will not be reported to students, educators, or schools.
Please encourage your child to be present on testing days and to get a good nights sleep the night before testing. If you have any questions about the NJSLA/NJGPA field testing please reach out to Mrs. Evancho at mevancho@hunterdonprep.org or (908) 832-7200 ext 16.
