Clinton Red Mill student volunteer schedule

Dear Parent/Guardian,

For over a decade, HPS has ushered in the new school year by partnering with the Red Mill Museum Village in Clinton, NJ and assisting it in preparing for its annual “Haunted Red Mill” fundraiser. This community service project occurs throughout the month of September. HPS staff and students work closely with set designers and volunteer crews in painting and constructing displays and sets for the event.

This year, to carry on this tradition, HPS staff and students will once again volunteer and help our neighbor. Starting the week of September 15th, HPS volunteers will be scheduled for one or two days a week and will work for a few hours in the morning on days they are scheduled. Those who volunteer will be invited to an HPS evening event to take a V.I.P. tour of the Haunted Mill on a Friday evening (TBD) in October.

This work will take place primarily outdoors. Students will be transported to and from the mill by HPS and will work approximately from 9:30am to 12:30pm. To be prepared for the trip, students need to do the following:

  • Bring a bagged lunch and water bottle
  • Dress for the weather, and wear clothes that can get dirt and paint on them
  • Wear sturdy shoes (no flip flops or sandals)

The work schedule is based on instructional groups. The schedule is as follows:

Monday – Troupe and Nest 2

Tuesday – Nest 1 and Hive 1

Wednesday – Hive 2 and Hive 3

Thursday – Cave 1

Friday – Cave 2 and 12+

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mr. Petrik epetrik@hunterdonprep.org 908-433-6583 ext. 45.
