The Week of Respect - October 7-11
The state of New Jersey has designated the week beginning with the first Monday in October as a WEEK OF RESPECT. The purpose of this week is to promote kindness, inclusion, and respect, and to encourage students to support each other. We will have a variety of activities throughout the week focusing on KINDNESS and ways to show kindness to yourself and others!
On Monday, say “Aloha” to respect by wearing a Hawaiian/floral shirt. Interact with the Bulletin Board outside the counseling department and create a “kindness poster” to be displayed by the bench.
On Tuesday, we will show Peace, Love, and Kindness by wearing tie-dye and writing letters to patients at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to brighten their day.
On Wednesday, we will “Sprinkle Kindness” with a kind word and sweet treat! Share ways someone was kind to you.
On Thursday, Kindness Rocks! You can paint/decorate stones that will be displayed on our walkway.
On Friday, Spirit Day! Wear school colors (blue/grey) or HPS clothing to show respect for your school.
