Summer Discovery 2020 Announcement

July 6th – August 14th, 2020

I hope this letter finds you and your families staying safe and healthy during this time of uncertainty. I find comfort in looking ahead to brighter days where we can all be together to laugh and learn again.

With that being said, Hunterdon Preparatory School is so excited to announce that we are planning the 12th year of our summer program, Summer Discovery! We have been working hard throughout this school year to create a dynamic, fun and engaging summer experience for your child.

During the six-week program, we provide students an opportunity to maintain the academic, social and behavioral progress made throughout the regular school year in order to prevent regression over the summer months. Students remain actively engaged with their peers and our school community to prevent loneliness, boredom and isolation.

Each student will receive creative and “out of the box” instruction in Math, English, Science and History and will also participate in group counseling. In addition, students will be able to take advantage of various art theme weeks and special interest electives throughout the summer.   The theme weeks and electives are carefully crafted and tailored to meet additional therapeutic goals.

The students always look forward to our trips which support the development of relationships and pro social behavior to complement the regularly scheduled program. We are currently working on scheduling these trips and should have a calendar of our events available in May.

Eligibility for participation in Summer Discovery program is IEP driven and needs to be discussed and approved by your sending district.  If you have any questions or would like more information about the program, please direct your request to me at rgeissinger@hunterdonprep.org.  Please note that you may receive an out of office message from me, but I am diligently checking email to address any questions regarding ESY.

Regards,

Rachel Geissinger
