Executive Order Remains in Effect

Dear Parents/Guardians:

On Monday Governor Murphy announced that his executive order to close New Jersey schools because of the COVID-19 pandemic will remain in effect for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Therefore, distance learning will continue until the end of this school year to meet the 180 day requirement.  This is not how any of us wanted the school year to end but as the Governor stated on Monday, the health and safety of our students, staff and families is the primary concern.

It is frustrating that at this point in time that we cannot provide firm details on plans for our 2020 graduation ceremony as there remains much uncertainty as to when in-person gatherings can be held and how many people will be allowed to gather in any given space the same time. We appreciate your patience and we will provide you with event details as soon as we can.

To the HPS students and staff, I remain so very grateful to all members of our community for your energetic commitment to making the very best of an extraordinarily difficult situation. To our parents, as we move into the last five weeks of the 2019-2020 school year, please reach out to teachers, counselors, administrators, or technology staff if you or your student need any assistance.

Let’s continue to support each other, stay safe and stay healthy until we can be together again.

Sincerely,

Toby Ray Loyd
Executive Director
