The Charles Lindbergh Jr. Kidnapping in Hopewell, NJ in 1932 captivated the world. When his killer was put on trial two years later, thousands of people came to Flemington, NJ to watch.
Students at HPS have been learning about the kidnapping and trial in their history classes. Last month we went to the New Jersey State Police Museum in Trenton to see artifacts from the kidnapping. Then we travelled to Flemington to visit the Historic Court House where the Lindbergh trial took place. Sheriff Brown gave us a presentation of the famous case and a tour of the prison cell and prosecutor's office.
Not only did students learn about the criminal process but the trip brought this local story to life!
