HPS winter weather procedures

It’s that time of year when we have to think about winter weather and the possibility of school closings. In the event that a decision is made to close Hunterdon Prep, have a delay opening, etc., parents will receive an automated phone call, text and email from the school (normally not later than 6:30 AM).

Additionally, we will announce school closings on the homepage of our website, our Facebook page or you may call the school at 908-832-7200 to hear a recorded message regarding closing of school.

We will also notify our bus companies/drivers by telephone if we are closed or delayed.

In the event that Hunterdon Prep is open but your home district is closed or delayed, the decision to transport students is up to the discretion of individual bus companies and drivers considering the weather conditions in their area and the policy of individual school districts. Any transportation related tardy/absence is excused.

REMINDER:

A delayed opening is a 90-minute delay or a 10:20 start time.

An early dismissal is at 12:30.

IMPORTANT!!!

Please check your contact information to make sure that everything is accurate. To do that, go into your Realtime Parent Portal. Under the menu, find “contacts”. All of your contact information is there and you will be able to see what numbers are set up to receive a call and/or a text and which email addresses are set up to receive emails from us.

If you would like to change anything, please just email csmith@hunterdonprep.org.
