Dear Hunterdon Prep Families,
It is with the heaviest of hearts that, once again, our nation is faced with another school shooting. We are all shocked and in disbelief that the students and staff at Apalachee High School in Georgia had to endure this unthinkable and senseless tragedy at the beginning of their school year. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families, students at the school, families, staff members, and the entire community.
I want to reassure you that our top priority at HPS is your child's safety and security. Each month, we run security drills so our students and staff are prepared in case of an emergency. In addition, we have a very strong and collaborative relationship with our local police department, Clinton Township Police. Today and in the next few days, they will increase their presence in driving past our school building to give our students a sense of security.
Please know that our staff and counselors are ready to support your child each day at HPS, especially over the next few days/weeks if they need to process any feelings surrounding this event. If you have concerns about your child, please reach out to their counselor at HPS.
Kindest regards,
Alisa Kopacz
Executive Director
