Art Connects People

Art Connects People

It’s never too early to think about summer at Hunterdon Prep! Today twenty-nine students joined with the Summer Discovery staff for our 2017 summer kickoff bonding activity. Led by art teacher, Susan Bleignier, we worked on creating a “Connecting Collage”.  Using our creativity, we envisioned a design on a colored, pre-cut mat board. Each student cut shapes made from hand-painted collage paper and assembled them to create a cohesive design. Each individual collage was then connected to form one artistic masterpiece!

During this activity, the students were asked to think about the value of connection to one another, the summer program and to the school. This new piece of artwork has already been installed and is ready for all to enjoy! It will serve as a reminder that our connection to one another is critically important.

Students enjoyed discussing their excitement about the summer program and eagerly shared ideas about trips they would like to take during our summer together. The creativity in the room was inspiring and the energy and enthusiasm about the summer was electric!

Enrollment in the Summer Discovery program is IEP driven and needs to be discussed with your district case manager. If you have any questions about our summer program, please call or email Alisa Kopacz at 908-832-7200 extension 29 or akopacz@hunterdonprep.org.
